Currently listening to How High We Go in the Dark, is it going to be depressing the whole way through?

I'm near the end of chapter 2, City of Laughter, and have had to take a break. It's well written but so difficult to listen to some of it.

People who have read all of it, is there any redemption or chance of happiness to come?

I read it recently and loved it .
It's quite cheerless and a complicated plot that only comes clear at the end

That's fantastic to hear, for sure. Reading is one of my many hobbies. I spend my days doing research. This is a very incredible article like Lil peep.

I'll stick with it. I am enjoying the future world building aspect and I like the characters so far, just struggling with ill children.

On the upside I had a look for comedy podcasts to try and lift my mood and I found that The Dirt Birds (funny Dublin comedy duo) have a new podcast. So feeling a lot better and I'll go back to the book another day.

I read it recently and really enjoyed it. I like books which aren't totally predictable or which make me think. It wasn't a laugh a minute, but there is an element of optimism in there.
