A coffee chain that sponsors awards will help

Still not got the ladder, fruitless googles of 80s songs. It's my last one.

AnneKipankitoo · 11/11/2022 13:42

Looks like the singer

The ladder is irrelevant. It's just a means to get her ....
The song was late 70s, not 80s.

The ladder is a classic which teen girls see as moody and romantic and adult women see as fucked up. It is very blustery on those hills.

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 14:06

...and heaths/cliffs 😉

CryCeratops · 11/11/2022 14:22

Re. the one on the ladder - I only learnt today (from reading this thread) that part of that book title was a word for strong winds.

I’d heard of the book before. I’ve even read the book before, and marvelled at just how fucked up the relationship between a certain two characters was.
But I’d never realised what the literal meaning of the title was 🫣

It was a number 1 hit in 1978 in the U.K.

TattiePants · 11/11/2022 14:54

Re the ladder, the singer of the song with the same name had a resurgence earlier this year as another one of her songs was made popular curtesy of Stranger Things.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/11/2022 15:38

@CryCeratops @TattiePants

Thank you both very much, such a fool, one of my faves

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/11/2022 15:39

I'm usually a lot better than this, a tough year I think

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/11/2022 15:51

And sorry, thanks to anyone who offered me a clue.

I actually feel like my pride is a bit injured Grin

It took me a while to get the two LIFE. It's one of my all-time favourite books!
<facepalm>

Purpleavocado · 11/11/2022 18:18

I can't get the Eve lady, any clues appreciated!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/11/2022 18:20

I haven’t managed to,get any. Not one. I blame covid brain fog (it’s the only excuse I have). 😪😪😪😪

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 18:25

@Purpleavocado Eve is more essential than a lady, and has a special accolade that no other female can claim.

Friolero · 11/11/2022 18:32

Just finished thanks to some clues on here!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/11/2022 18:34

Thanks to you clever people, I do have six now. I’m still racking my brains on the rest.

Purpleavocado · 11/11/2022 18:39

Argh, first wife, first mother, I can't think!

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 11/11/2022 18:44

Ok I need more help with the 2 life books the same size. That is the only one I have left.

Purpleavocado · 11/11/2022 18:45

Think about the names of the books, and their positions relative to each other

InMySpareTime · 11/11/2022 18:53

@Purpleavocado she may not be a lady, but she's all...

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 11/11/2022 18:55

2 lives side by side????

CryCeratops · 11/11/2022 18:55

@Purpleavocado who was Eve in the Bible?
