The play? No spoilers, please, but is it a comedy? I imagine not, in which case, is there DV that might be triggering, or is it kind of cartoon violence? I'm thinking of going to see the play but want a bit more info first. TIA

@I don't know about this play in particular but Francis Durbridge wrote murder mystery thrillers so I doubt very much that it's a comedy but equally I wouldn't expect extreme violence.
I do have one of his books Bat out of Hell which was televised in the early 1970s. Have a quick look on Google and then you can decide if it's suitable for you

Thank you. I did look for book reviews but couldn't find anything.

It’s billed as a 'twisty' thriller, @AssignedSlytherinAtBirth . Involving murder but as a pp says, I’m pretty sure it isn’t gory in any way, as it was written in the 1970s (unless the current production is trying to be particularly shocking).

I'd be quite surprised if it involves violence, though, as it’s regularly staged by local drama companies.

Suddenly At Home isn't a comedy, it's a murder suspense play.
You do see the actual murder on stage in Suddenly, At Home, but I wouldn't say it was especially gory or horrifically violent. Francis Durbridge loved clever stage business, and how he presents the murder is part of this.

The theme of the play is, will the careful planning by the murderer be successful, and will their devious scheme work in the way they hope?

Thank you both @AdaColeman and @Halsall Much appreciated!
