*of gratitude, not real pounds.

Late 90's / early 00's chick lit. She was a daytime TV producer, she had her heart broken by a man who I think was called Simon, he cheated on her. She made him goulash one night.

This is all I can remember and it's driving me mad 🤣

Something by Jane Fallon?

SecretMoomin · 05/09/2022 21:28

It’s not Jane Green or Marian Keyes.
I know the book but can’t remember the name!

MaChienEstUnDick · 05/09/2022 21:29

Is it an Adele Parks? I've definitely read it...

cathyandclare · 05/09/2022 21:34

I've read this too, shamelessly posting for someone with a better memory, Not Marianne Keyes I don't think.

MaChienEstUnDick · 05/09/2022 21:35

Still Thinking of You? Adele Parks book about a TV producer... can't see a mention of a Simon on the blurb though...

It's not that. That was the one where she lost a lot of weight and went to live with someone in California!

I was thinking of Jemima J but she also wrote another one about a woman call Tasha (Anastasia) and she has a heart breaky jaunt with a man called Simon and the book is centred around that. There's a group of female friends, a player type guy and a friendly guy called Adam she eventually gets with. Is that the one OP?

I've also read this and can't remember the name. I'm off to investigate my bookcase...

Dreamwhisper · 05/09/2022 21:41

It's definitely Straight Talking - this is the synopsis:

Meet Tasha—single and still searching. A producer for Britain’s most popular morning show working under a nightmare boss, Tash is well-versed in the trials and tribulations of twenty-first century dating. She and her three best friends certainly haven’t lived the fairy tale they thought they would: there’s Andy, who’s hooked on passion, but too much of a tomboy to have moved much beyond the beer-drinking contest stage; Mel, stuck in a steady but loveless relationship; and Emma, endlessly waiting for her other half to propose. Their love lives are only complicated by the sort of men who seem to drift in and out: Andrew—suave, good-looking and head over heels in love . . . with himself; Simon, who is allergic to commitment but has a bad-boy nature that’s impossible to resist; and Adam—perfectly attractive, but too sweet to be sexy.

ShirleyPhallus · 05/09/2022 21:43

it’s Straight Talking - here’s the bit from the book that mentions Simon and Goulash!
