The Bone Season - Samantha Shannon - any good?

I've just started reading this and tbh, am finding it a bit of a slog to get into all the vocabulary and set up of the world. I feel like I've missed a previous book that explained it all a bit more clearly.
Is it worth pursuing?

I really didn't enjoy it. I found the whole book a slog to get through and was relieved when I got to the end. Really not worth slogging through.
