So many promising new books being released in coming months

I thought I'd start making a list because it feels like literally all of my favourite authors have new titles coming out and my Amazon pre order habit is in danger of getting out of hand.

If anyone wants to add any they are aware of please do!

So

18th August new Anthony Horowitz in the Hawthorn series The Twist of a Knife - loved this series so far and will listen on audible

Same day - Haven, new book by Emma Donoghue

Same day again- 1989 by Val McDiarmid - enjoyed the first one of these

30th august - The Ink Black heart - R Galbraith. Cannot wait. Again will listen on audible

On the same day Maggie O'Farrell The Marriage Portrait - can't wait for this, again loved everything she has ever written

1st September Ann Cleeves new Vera, The Rising Tide

6th September new Stephen King- Fairy Tale

September 27th new Kate Atkinson- Shrines of Gaeity

September 29th Elly Griffiths new novel in the Harbinder Kaur Series -Bleeding Heart Yard

October 5th Dead Mans Creek by Chris Hammer - enjoyed Opal Country by him and this is the same series

6th October - the Romantic by William Boyd

I have a couple of those reserved at the library already! I also intend to read Lucy Worsley's biography of Agatha Christie.

I’m going to watch Ann Cleves and Brenda Belthyn do an evening with Vera on sept 1st and we get a copy of the book as part of the ticket!

He said it sold out in minutes!

@theveg My mum was in charge of getting tickets when I was at work. She’s now talking about buying Vera hats from the man on the Quayside market. I think that’s probably a bridge too far…!

Ooh this is great. Love Maggie O'Farrell & have lots of audible credits to use, although may prefer the paper book.

I've just set up a notification for Madeline Miller's new book and it's not due to be published until 2024

Richard Osman's third book is due out 15th September. The Bullet that Missed

I didn't mind the Austen one, Remus - it was entirely derivative of other books I'd read, but I found it readable enough.

Yes, she's very derivative. I thought that about the English Murder one. I was bored senseless by her Austen one, and I say that as a complete Janeite, so it was Worsley's fault, not Austen's.

You're reminding me to manage my expectations for her new one!

Really looking forward to the new Maggie O'Farrell, and didn't know Kate Atkinson had a new one coming out, so thank you for that!

This has reminded me that I should try and find a new book group - it's been ages
since I was last in one.
My top choices are probably Maggie O'Farrell, Kate Atkinson and Barbara Kingsolver.

Two new titles from Joel Dicker, one is The Alaska Sanders Case (i may have caved and read a sample in French while waiting for it in translation, just for French practice) and another with Room 662 in the title which I saw on holiday in Spain, but I can't read Spanish well enough.

I have put Osman, McDermid, Horowitz, Atkinson and Galbraith on hold with the library but looking at my place in the queue I will almost certainly end up buying them!
