Have you read the sequel, I Left My Tent in San Francisco? It’s Emma Kennedy’s story of travelling in the US as a student. It doesn’t seem to be to everyone’s taste but I love it as a funny go-to light read.

Ooh, how about 'Love Nina' by Nina Stibbe? It's letters to her sister when she was a nanny in London in the 80s, but I found the humour similar to TTTBAM.

The 'Driving over Lemons' series by Chris Stewart
'Dear Lupin' by Charlie & Roger Mortimer
'Confessions of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell

''This is Going to Hurt' has a serious message and some heart-rending bits, but is also hilarious in places.

'Moab is my Washpot' by Stephen Fry

It was a long time ago that I read it but The Hundred Year Old Man who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson is a very easy read full of utter ridiculousness, farcical and funny.
