Where to find really reliable and good book recommendations online?

I follow Modern Mrs Darcy and Reece Witherspoon but they’re very hit and miss. A fair bit of dross. I want a good place to look for recommendations so I don’t waste my time on dross as my reading time is very precious.

Depends what you like, but I think you'll be hard pressed to beat the threads on here, lots of different readers saying what they really think about books. No-one is getting free copies of the books or being paid to review them. If there is a book you think sounds good do a search for it here and see what people are saying. And make use of bookshops and Amazon to read the first 20 pages or so of a book to see if you enjoy it.

If you go on Facebook and type in ‘Bookclubs’, several online Bookclubs are listed. The Radio 2 used to be good, but has been paused. They’re quite good for recommendations.

I also registered with Bookbub - you put in your favourite genres and they send your emails with recomendations.

Have you tried BookTube? Depending on what kind of books you like to read, there's bound to be someone on YouTube that you like.

I watch LaurenandtheBooks, Jen Campbell, and DrinkingByMyShelf who all talk about new releases. And I also watch Miranda Mills for her recommendations, which are mostly backlisted between the wars, and earlier. She does a monthly read-along book club too.
