If you're an Agatha Christie fan?

Good question! I love them all in their own different ways but I think Miss Marple is my favourite. Followed closely by Poirot. How about you?

Rainbowqueeen · 17/06/2022 12:38

Miss Marple. She is ace

DPotter · 17/06/2022 12:40

Definitely Miss Marple, then Poirot. I find Tommy & Tuppence a bit irritating

Floella22 · 17/06/2022 12:40

Miss Marple, preferably with Joan Hickson. Agatha Christie’s own choice.

FlamingoYellow · 17/06/2022 12:40

Miss Marple! I wish there were more stories with her in.

Tommy and Tuppence are extremely irritating.

TheMooch · 17/06/2022 12:42

Miss Marple.
I like reading Poirot but hate it on TV.
T&T just annoying.

AnnotherReader · 17/06/2022 12:43

I prefer Poirot as he explains how he worked it out whereas with Miss Marple there is often not a logical thought process to follow. She seems to arrive at the answer through a combination of intuition and luck.

PineappleWilson · 17/06/2022 12:52

I like all of them but I always liked the ones where I had a fighting chance of working out who dunnit (Five Little Pigs is good for that). The Poirot ones tend to have more "Poirot swans off to London to check at the public records office" content so I'll go with Miss. Marple. I like her short stories too.

I've recently discovered the new novels by Sophie Hannah. One was awful, and very complicated but the Three Quarters is much nearer the mark,

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/06/2022 18:46

For me it is Poirot, Miss Marple and then T & T.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 17/06/2022 19:09

Poirot, Miss Marple and T and T.

Westernstar · 17/06/2022 19:11

I like the Harley Quinn books too. Hard to choose a favourite.

MadMadMadamMim · 17/06/2022 19:14

Miss Marple. Then Poirot.

Tommy and Tuppence I found irritating and bumbling, to be honest!

Like @Westernstar I loved the Harley Quinn stories. My definite favourite.

CaramelJones · 17/06/2022 21:13

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who can't bear T&T. I've only read their books once but Tommy seemed to be incredibly stupid considering that he was recruited by the Secret Service. He falls for the most obvious traps. I wouldn't hire him for an Easter Egg hunt.

I forgot about Harley Quinn. His stories are good but he gives me the creeps. What exactly is he supposed to be?

I wouldn't hire him for an Easter Egg hunt

🤣

Greensleeves · 17/06/2022 21:17

Marple all the way. Hickson. The others are shit.

I do like Poirot, but not as much as Marple. T&T don't really work for me.

MissyB1 · 17/06/2022 21:17

I am a huge Miss Marple fan! Poirot is fine but Marple beats him easily.
Tommy and Tuppence pffft! No time for them!

MissMarpleRocks · 17/06/2022 21:18

You called? 😂

I can only watch Joan Hickson ones as the others give me The Rage. I also like Harley Quinn books & Poirot books. Not keen on T&T.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 17/06/2022 21:21

I completely forgot about Harley Quinn.

Actually, I can't remember anything about Harley Quinn.

Verbena87 · 17/06/2022 21:21

Miss Marple, then Poirot. T&T piss me off badly though I am quite fond of their horrible little dog.

Tintackedsea · 17/06/2022 21:41
  1. Miss Marple books and Joan Hickson tv show but also love June Whitfield on the radio (no other Marples feature for me and I won't watch them)

2.Poirot books then David Suchet tv show and then John Moffat on the radio and then a very, very long chalk and the other Poirots (although John Malcovich borders on the unwatchable).

  1. Tommy and Tuppence, Parker Pyne etc. pfft.
MrsPear · 17/06/2022 21:48

I found the t abd t radio series hilarious.

Books poirot then marple.

MadMadMadamMim · 17/06/2022 22:55

Oh Parker Pyne...I'd forgotten about those stories. Very clever...I liked them.

CoralPaperweight · 18/06/2022 09:14

Not getting all the love for Marple. You cannot book the classic double act of Hastings and Poirot IMO. Also, Poirot changes as a character throughout the books.

BestIsWest · 18/06/2022 09:20

Poirot.

Though I suspect if I read more Miss Marple that might change. Hmm. Will rectify that.
