Has anyone read The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex? I have a question!

Really good book, enjoyed it very much (about 3 lighthouse workers who go missing and no one can work out what happened to them) but a "silver man" keeps getting mentioned and I can't work out the relevance. Anyone else read this one?

I felt robbed by this book. I really enjoyed reading it but at the end I had so many questions! One of which was the relevance of the silver man, the relevance of Helen visiting the area in a taxi years later (?!), and why she didn’t elaborate more on the relationship between Helen and Bill, from Helen’s perspective.

I have also read this book and couldn't quite figure out the point of the silver man among other things. I thought it was a really good premise for a book but somehow was a bit dissatisfied by the ending.

I'm afraid I thought it was rubbish. Began well but then got really silly.

Agree with PPs that it started off well, great idea but took a strange and rather silly turn.

It would have made for a much better story had it been kept to a straightforward mystery.

I really liked it but felt unresolved at the end.

I have read it, is the silver man the one the younger guy has seen around and he thinks it's the guy that randomly turns up for a bit (clearly a gangster if some sort)? I think it was just to add in some mystery and supernatural elements to destabilise the narrative when you weren't sure who was reliable or not. I can't remember the names properly! Is Bill the one that kisses the other one's wife then spins a whole story in his head? He was clearly not well at all by the end.
