Have you read When I Was Ten by Fiona Cummins ?
If so, what did you think ?

Yes, I read it. I couldn't put it down. The bit that stuck with me was when the little girl said she was threatened with a hockey stick and wet herself 😔

I thought it was very good too.

I'm reading it right now. About half way through and am finding it really hard, emotionally. The relentless abuse of those poor girls is awful. I will finish it though, but I will need something light after this.

I read it, and I thought it was a solid fine. I found the plot twists fairly predicable and a particular off-shoots/perspectives didn’t add anything to the reading experience or plot. That being said I did find it easy to read, and it was a page turner. I think I have just found that genre of book rarely really does it for me, I had similar feelings about Girl A and The Guest List.

I read it earlier this year and it was fine. It was compelling enough, but nothing was remarkable about it. I probably rated it two stars on Goodreads. It's one of those books which I will have forgotten totally in a few years. I felt that the villains weren't well characterised. The parents were one dimensional cartoon villains who were evil because the plot needed them to be. The side plot with the MP was pointless and again the characterisation of him was poor. Petty point, but it also bugged me that the book is called When I Was Ten, but the only first person character was twelve at the time.
