Kindles! Any tips or recommendations, also for second-hand

We're hopefully off on holiday in July. Flying, so can't take actual books. We normally read about 5/6 books each on hols, so kindles would be great. We'll need 4.

Are there any models which are superior to read on? Does it matter about size etc? Does it matter if its an old model? Not massively techy so advice gratefully received.

Can anyone recommend websites for second hand kindles, reconditioned?

I've just posted something similar ,but no response. My question is what kind of ebook reader is best?Where do you get the books from? Refurbished sounds a good idea. But which one? What kind? Please answer somebody

Kindles are on offer at the moment. The basic one is £40, or £8 a month for 5 months.

I love my kindles, easy to read, adjust, set up, purchase from.

Amazon also sell refurbished kindles, but the basic one seems to be cheaper (just put refurbished kindle in the search bar).

I like to have a case to protect the screen whilst it is in my bag too.

Kindle do a lot of books on offer, with daily and monthly deals, and there's a selection of free books.

If you have a family account you could all access all books in the library (but you would need to stop them synching across devices).

Paperwhite backlit amazing

@RedSoloCup Yes, the Paperwhites are really good, but depending on budget, the basic model is now a lot better than it was.

I have a paperwhite and love it, but now the basic model can be read in the dark I would happily use that.
