I picked up the first of these in a charity shop yesterday and I have binge read it over yesterday and today. I cannot believe it's taken me till 36 to find out about it's existence!! I loved it and am obviously delighted to learn there's an entire series.

My question is do they need to be read in order, or after the first one can I read any?

Oh read in order, definitely!

How funny I’m just re-reading them, I read them years ago. There is a new one out later this year. It’s a brilliant series but you definitely need to read in order, I’m on False Value now.

Read in order, and although you don't need to read the graphic novels they do help to fill in some gaps. The next one is due out in April

Oh great thank you. I suspect it'll take me a long time before I get to the newest one as I don't normally have much time to read as much as I'd like

@CMOTDibbler should the short stories be read in order too or can they go anywhere??

The short stories (and the ones set in Germany) aren't so critical to go in order. There are 'moments' on his website as well which are super short bits that fit in, and a great free audible short story
