I've been starting to get excited for the next Lisa Jewell book on Audible called the Girls, release date mid March. However, now that I have read the description, I'm sure have listened to this book already on Audible and the storyline sounds so familiar. I definitely havent read any LJ books on Kindle/Paperback so that can't be the reason I think I know the story already. So, my question is - has anyone else already listened to The Girls by Lisa Jewell on Audible or am I going mad?!

No, but the title reminded me of The House We Grew Up In, as I think they were all sisters, which I did listen to.

I've read (actually, listened to!) The House We Grew Up in but I know im not thinking of that one. Its more the description of the girl being found unconscious in the communal garden that feels familiar. Its really;y bugging mer and I'll now as soon as I buy it if I have 'read' it before. I just dont want to spend a few weeks looking forward to it, only to be disappointed Grin

Found it on Goodreads, it's from 2015! Audible should have made that clearer.

Yes I listened to it some years ago read by Gabrielle Glaister (“Bob” from Blackadder) and Amelie Jewell. Is that the one?

Audible quite often release books that are just a re-recording by a different narrator. I sometimes get emails from them promoting the ‘new’ Austen or Dickens! They should be clearer when it’s an author still writing though.

Now I have Blackadder saying "Bob" stuck in my head!

@tobee you have just solved it - I would have listened to the Gabrielle Glaister version!Thank you - it has been bugging me!! It was her narration that made me look for more books that she has done, she's great!

The Family Remains is the next Lisa Jewell novel. It's out in July, according to Goodreads. It sequel to The Family Upstairs. I'll be looking out for that one on Audible.

Yep I've definitely listened to it before.

This confused me too OP! I got an email advertising it as a new one but I was sure I had already listened to it.
