Feeling so emotional after finishing my book

shannonhinton0421 · 08/02/2022 15:44

I am new to reading I have only ever read 4 books in my life. I have just finished a book called 'wait for you'
But I feel so emotionally connected to this book from when I started reading it it was all I could think about, I didn't cook, I hardly ate, I didn't clean. Luckily I finished it within 2 days.
I've ordered the next one which I'm hoping will arrive tomorrow.
But now I'm thinking should I read the next one.
I don't know what's happened to me, I feel completely lost, I miss the characters in the book, it's all I can think about. I havnt eaten yet today but I've lost my appetite.
As I'm writing this I'm actually laugh because it's silly it's a book but I don't know what the hell bas happened to me.
Is this normal for me to feel like this? As much a lovedddddd reading this book I can't feel like every time.

Aw, lovely. It's known as being 'booked' in our house and I haven't felt like that for a really, really long time! Enjoy it. It is totally normal.

Ah that's brilliant OP! I love that feeling of being so absorbed, it's like making new friends isn't it? Best way to get over a brilliant book is to start another. Wishing you lots more fantastic reading!

Tell the author if you can find them on social media, it will make them so happy.

Ah sounds wonderful I love getting completely lost in a book . What was your book called ?

Figrollface · 08/02/2022 16:07

I'm dying to know what book it was? Book reading is so much pleasure.

Divebar2021 · 08/02/2022 16:09

You need to get yourself down the library… you have a whole world of adventures waiting for you. Libraries need people like you and me to use them and keep them funded. Not every book will grab you in the same way but every so often something will come along that really gets under the skin.

It’s so amazing isn’t it? Feeling so connected to a book and the characters in it is a bit like falling in love. And I’ve so often missed characters like friends when I’ve finished a book.

I love to read and it’s been my constant companion since I was a child.
