Does anyone have a copy of Winter Solstice by Rosamund Pilcher to hand?

I'm currently reading it on my Kindle and I've just got to a section which jarred and made me wonder if my Kindle had cut out some of the text.

It's about 75% of the way through. An Elfrida chapter where she has just woken Lucy to watch the golden snow fall outside. Everyone else in the house is still asleep. Then suddenly Elfrida is telling Oscar (who is now in the same room, reading his paper) that she is going out in the car. Everyone else (including Lucy) is elsewhere.

I read that and thought woah, hang on a minute... Oscar was fast asleep a few moments ago. I wondered if my Kindle had missed some text, or whether the print version has asterisks like this

to show the passing of time and not make it quite so jarring to the reader?

(Just to say, I am enjoying this book as a fairly light, easy read, but there have been several instances, like this one, where I have thought - where is the editor???)

Just looked in my printed version and there's a gap between the two sections - not a row of asterisks but a missed line of print - which is used throughout to indicate a movement from one scene to another.

Ah, thank you for checking for me. A blank line between the two scenes makes sense. The formatting obviously hasn't been copied across correctly in the Kindle version.
