Did anyone used to read Anita Shreve? Similar type books recommendations?

Her name popped into my head, I used to love her books. Pilots Wife and the series based around the house by the sea. I remember reading them in a day.

I see she’s written some more recent books but fear they won’t be any good.

Is there any books similar that are written more recently?

Have you tried Sue Miller, Anna Quindlen, Elizabeth berg, Anne Tyler, Ann Patchett, Carol Shields?

Some great recommendations above. The last three writers are actually better than Anita Shreve imo.

Also have a look at Sue Gee. Earth and Heaven and The Mysteries of Glass are particularly good.

@highlandcoo , thanks for reminding me of Sue Gee. I liked Reading in Bed. And the one about the Welsh poet, can't remember the name
