If I enjoyed the TV show do you think I would enjoy the books?

I read the first 6 (I think) because after the first one I got hooked into wanting to know about the other characters.

They're ok. Bog standard modern regency romance. They do get very repetitive.

They're often cheap on Kindle.

I started watching Bridgerton yesterday and I wondered the same thing!

I hope you get an answer soon, OP!

Thanks @ditalini

I'm looking for something easy to read in holiday and thought they might fit the bill.

Thanks @onPaper. Enjoy the series!

Oh they definitely fit that bill.

The first 3 are the best I think. After that I was just reading out of curiosity for the characters and a synopsis would have scratched the itch just as well!

Actually, make that first 4 because that's Colin's story Grin

I read the first one after enjoying the series, but thought it was pretty feeble. Easier to suspend disbelief watching the beautiful people on the telly!

I read the first - absolutely terrible.

Read the first, but didn't fancy the rest.

I read the first few before watching the series. I like the stories in the book better than the tv version. You felt you got to know the people better.

However, they not literary masterpieces, but good for a bit of escapism.

Also, the series deviates from the plots of the book, so there’s a few different characters, and the storyline is slightly different.

I’ve read the first two and do plan on reading them all. They are very light and silly and the writing is not great lit but I didn’t go in expecting heavy, serious and world class literature. They are fun and frivolous and imagine they make good holiday reads.

I read the first abs haven't bothered with the rest either.

If you want something easy to read on holiday but much more interesting abs written better I'd try the Beach Hut series by Veronica Henry. Reading one of her books is always my holiday treat.

I’m the reading the first one now. It’s okay but I don’t think I will continue with the series once I’ve finished reading it. It’s easy light reading but not very engaging or stimulating.

I read them all but it was in lockdown. They were quick and easy to read. Bit predictable really but fun. Made a change from what I usually read.
