...What else would my friend like?
She likes crime fiction and it's not really my genre so I would welcome some suggestions please.

The Cormorant Strike series by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling) is great.

Avoid Jo Nesbo though, I found them very disappointing after The Girl With the dragon tattoo. Full of loose ends.

Will follow this thread for other recommendations Smile

I really like crime fiction but fear my taste is trashy. I love the Peter James series (even though I roll my eyes A LOT).

Ann Cleeves is good, less trashy than Peter James (I think so anyway Grin). I’m reading her Vera books but it might be a bit twee for some. I think the Shetland series is meant to be good.

See I love the Jo Nesbo books, and I liked the Millennium trilogy too.

Also: Val McDermid, especially the Carol Jordan/Tony Hill series.

Håkan Nesser’s Van Veeteren series is good IMO, although some people find them a bit pedantic and slow to start off.

Oh Yrsa Sigurdardottir too

I loved the Millennium series too and really enjoyed Headhunters by Jo Nesbo - one of my favourites, which I will definitely read again sometime (but haven't really got into his other books)

I'm currently reading a Peter James book. They're great if you want an easier read

I like Peter James too but they’re sometimes so cheesy aren’t they? Grin

Me too.

Peter May and Anne Cleeves are always winners for me.

I really like the millennium series and I also enjoyed I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. I love absolutely anything by Tami Hoag and Karin Slaughter too.

Soooooooooo cheesy. But so easy like @MangoM said. Some of the dialogue is toe curling and as for the sex scenes Envy
