I know she's a bit Marmite on here, but I've started reading the new Sally Rooney. She's moved on and her characters are late twenties/ early 30s.
I'm enjoying it so far and can relate a bit better to it than her earlier 'coming of age' novels (I'm 38). I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a modern 'literary' author/authors that are about a decade older please? I'd love to read a few books that reflect my stage of life/my generation. I've got kids, but I'm also open to books that don't feature that lifestyle.
