Anyone read London Orbital?

I was expecting this book to be enjoyable - it wasn’t - quite boring overall and very hard work

Yes, I loved it. I lived in London for ten years and DH and I did a huge amount of urban walking, generally of the more picturesque, older historical type, but I in the days when I commuted in from Oxford by bus, I was completely fascinated by the fuzzy edges where you had ponies grazing, a pitch and putt course, a canal, a housing estate, the street of a swallowed up village etc etc.

I must admit to be fair there were some quite interesting bits of the book like old hospitals etc

Took me 18 months to read it but I was very off and on with it!!

It’s probably more of a dipping into book, plus it weighed a ton! — I used to read it with the A-Z alongside.

With the A-Z is probably best way to read it! Put it into context!
