I’m rattling through the books just now and at at least £3 a download it’s becoming a costly hobby!!

I’ve tried the online library and also got amazon subscription that lets you download 1,000’s of books for but I can never see anything that takes my fancy or at all recent, I find it a bit like scrabbling round a H&M sale section while the nice new season is sitting all beautiful and organised behind!! 🤣

Can anyone prove me wrong and suggest great reads they have found for free through prime please.

Ah, great idea.

Ok so the first thing I do each month is amazon first reads, just search first reads and the blurb comes up. There is six new books to chose from each month, so I get one of those straight off. Make sure you select it via prime.

Looking at my recent borrowed ones I've enjoyed as easy type reads

The best of friends, lucinda berry
When we believed in mermaids, Barbara o Neil
What if, shari low
What she wants, Cathy kelly
Time out, emma Murray
Ps I love you, caecilians ahern
The cows, dawn o porter

All fairly light but I'm night feed stay awake mode at moment!

Bookbub is worth signing up to, you can chose your genres and get a daily email with free and cheap books.
I buy all the free ones I fancy, and have 500+ unread books on my kindle - so I can always find something I fancy.

I've currently got a 2 month free kindle unlimited subscription, and have read quite a few of the rest of the series where I've had the 1st one free.

bookh · 03/08/2021 19:15

@Chasingsquirrels I keep looking at unlimited but am trying to resist. Worth it to pay do you think?

Chasingsquirrels · 03/08/2021 19:17

I will be cancelling when my free trial ends, but then as I said I've got hundreds of unread books anyway.
I'm just using it for these couple of months to read continuation books from free ones I've enjoyed (not all but a fair number of the free ones are the 1st of a series).

I read a great short story free on Amazon prime, Evidence of the affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid, was only 80+ pages, but very enjoyable.

Thoughtsfortheday · 03/08/2021 19:33

I’m really trying to make it worth it but every time I need a new book I end up buying as can never find anything I fancy!

Thanks for the list @bookh, I’m going through them now.

Do you have prime? I have got some good reads on the amazon prime first reads scheme if one free book a month. The current selection include paper dolls which I've read in a day as I found it page turning.

bookh · 03/08/2021 19:36

@littleducks oh I've just realised its August...is paper dolls August, I've not done the, yet on list for tonight.

Danikm151 · 03/08/2021 19:41

Dying for a living by Kory Schrum
The gender game by bella Forrest.
These were the first in the series but the rest are on kindle unlimited 🙂

littleducks · 03/08/2021 19:43

Yes from August list, but I got name wrong is Paper doll lina

I've just bought evidence of the affair for 99p so will try that out now

This is a great idea for a thread. I mostly read trashy cop/spy series on unlimited. Would love to find more but there’s so much.

sm40 · 03/08/2021 21:49

Not free but I have an Amazon wish list. I check it every day. Lots of titles drop to
99p but some offers only last a day.
