Has anyone read this and what do you think?

I’m half way through it. The language takes a little getting used to. Sometimes I don’t mind it, other times I find it a little simplistic, or have to say the sentance out loud to work out what’s being said.

However, it’s fascinating to learn about a different culture and way of life.

(Even though I haven’t finished, I don’t mind people discussing the end)

I read it and I liked it. At one point I put it down as I thought it was going to get too traumatic but it didn't. The language changes slightly throughout the book as her education improves.

One of my stand out books of the year. I’ve been recommending it to everyone. I liked the way the language developed through the book. I thought the characters were so well drawn they walked right off the page.

I hadn't heard of this until it was reviewed on Between the Covers. I find books that aren't written in Standard English hard to get into so I've bought the audio book. I haven't listened to it yet so glad to see the positive comments.

I was worried I’d be put off by the language but I honestly can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying it

I heard it as a book at bedtime on Radio 4 and it sounded really good with actress doing the voices as its written, maybe try and find the audio? I enjoyed it, I could totally picture it all in my head.
