Can anyone recommend some?
I've enjoyed the Strike novels, Minette Walters, and the first few Sophie Hannah ones.
I do like other crime authors but am looking specifically for some with an element of romance or will they/won't they?

JD Robb
Charlaine Harris (Harper Connelly series, somewhat supernatural)
Elizabeth Peters
Janet Evanovich
Some Tess Gerritsen
Kathy Reichs
SR Garrae
Kelley Armstrong's Nadia Stafford and/or Rockton series
Richard Castle (ties in to a TV series, some time off air, Castle)

Patricia Wentworth
Dorothy L Sayers
Agatha Christie
Ngaio Marsh
Margery Allingham
Georgette Heyer

Can't think of any others for a minute, if I do, I'll pop back here to post.

The DI Fawley series by Cara Hunter devotes a bit of time to the romantic entanglements of various characters.

Artus · 23/04/2021 19:53

Elly Griffiths Dr Ruth Galloway series?

Paranoidandroidmarvin1350 · 23/04/2021 20:31

Karen rose !

StellaAndCrow · 23/04/2021 22:07

I just came to say Karan Rose, and Paranoid has just said it too!

Definitely Karen Rose - I haven't read any for a while, so it's her earlier ones I'm thinking about, but I remember great romantic will they/won't they stuff. And I think maybe a very nice fireman - do you remember there being a fireman Paranoid?

StellaAndCrow · 23/04/2021 22:11

And I hadn't realised that there were books of Castle, so thank you hiding. Though I watched that mainly for Nathan Fillion, and can't remember much of what they were about!

Paranoidandroidmarvin1350 · 24/04/2021 09:38

@StellaAndCrow there was always a fire man or investigator of some description. It’s about as close to a romance novel as I get. Think they don’t have to be read in order but better if u do.

StellaAndCrow · 24/04/2021 12:19

Me too! I don't seek out romance novels, but these were a good combination of thriller/romance.

BestIsWest · 24/04/2021 12:21

Definitely Dr Ruth Galloway - Ellie Griffiths as pp mentioned.

MissKittyFantastico84 · 24/04/2021 12:26

Placemark!

OnceUponAThread · 24/04/2021 12:51

Definitely definitely Karen Rose. A serial killer and a love story in every one. The romance is a huge element of each story.

If you don't mind American crime fiction (I find it quite different, more lawyers less cops!) Melinda Leigh. I particularly like her Morgan Dane books. There's other series based on different members of the family if I remember correctly too.

Hestyo · 24/04/2021 13:57

Thank you so much, everyone. Lots of new authors to check out.
