The Sanatorium - I NEED spoiler help!

I have just finished the Sanatorium. Good enough book, however the epilogue; can someone please explain it to me? 🤔

I really Enjoyed it. I know this is the authors first book. So I think this is going to be a continuing story on to the next book with the same characters ?

I've just had a look back and it does make no sense, been a few weeks since I read it. Hmm.

It’s funny isn’t it how some people love a book and others not so much. I just finished the silent patient and really struggled with it. But I loved this one and will be getting the next one.

Nope. Not yet that. My list of books to read is enormous. My wish list on Amazon runs in the £200. And my audio book is lost is about seven pages long. Now I’m off to see if I need this one.lol.

I assumed it was the person who pushed her in the plunge pool. As she couldn’t see the face on cctv. He is stalking her. Followed her to the hotel. And is now following her home. I assumed someone out there is after her. That’s how I saw it.

paranoidandroidmarvin oh yes, I got that, but who is that person? I felt I may have missed something, but obviously not 😂

As was said before there is probably a follow on book, I just thought it was a strange thing to throw in there at the end, but if nobody that has read the book actually knows who it refers to, then that’s fine; not just me! 👍

I finished this last night and had exactly the same question! The epilogue didn’t make any sense with the rest of the book unless as a pp said it’s intended to lead into a sequel.

I also had some other unanswered questions. Did they ever work out why Laure had a second phone? Why was Isaac sacked? It felt like these things were just chucked in to be red herrings but never got satisfactorily resolved. And how on earth did Elin ever become a police officer in the first place?!

I came on here to create this same thread, just finished this last night and was very unsatisfied with the ending! Just came completely out of the blue! I read some other forums and I think the popular opinion is that it was Isaac and he had in fact liked Sam and was now after Elin... which I just think is a bit daft, like how would she not notice him following her?

Other theory was that it was the guy from the Hayler case she was working on but again, why would he be stalking her?

If it’s set up for another book about her I don’t think il bother. Thought it seemed a bit rushed and as I read on another forum, I’m not a fan of when they just explain everything at the end, it’s better when there’s clues as to the reason they are doing what they are doing.

I have other questions if anyone is able to answer too please!

-why was she so violently killing people when her motive was to expose what Daniel did?
-why did she just accept Isaac telling her the opposite of what she remembered about Sam?
-why did Laure just take off that night? I know they said it was to make it look like she’d left but surely if that was to protect herself she’d have taken supplies to help herself?
-did we actually see Laure’s face when she pushed elin into the plunge pool? If not, why was she so sure it was laure who did that to her?
