HP and Cursed Child movie

DH says he's read somewhere that HP and the Cursed Child will be turned into a movie, and apparently with the original adult cast (from the theatre show).

BUT....why not have Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltraine etc.

Also movie snape is not movie snape unless its Alan Rickman.

Interesting. To be honest despite being a fan of the original series as a child/teen, I was so disappointed in The Cursed Child. The plot just felt so poor to me, badly paced and seemed to have no sensible direction. I wasn’t a massive fan of the Fantastic Beasts series either - sometimes I think a series is best left alone.

There is going to be just the tiniest problem getting Alan Rickman to reprise the role, sadly.

I was so excited to see the cursed child. The book disappointed me but I thought maybe it would be better on stage. Tried for ages to get tickets, finally did and it was utter shite. I agree, I prefer the originals.

Fantastic beasts isn't that bad, at least it doesn't tinker with the original story too much.

I hated the plot of Cursed Child. Cedric Diggory turning into a death eater because he lost the tournament? Voldemort secretly shagging and impregnating Bellatrix and her giving birth with no one noticing during the last few books?

No no no no.

The plot of Cursed Child wasn't great. The staging was brilliant, but that would be lost in a film as they can do special effects much more easily.

Much as I liked Harry Potter, I think it's time to make different films!
