Who has finished reading theirs yet?

If you do read these of course Grin

I got it on Tuesday and was finished by Saturday.

2 freaking years I waited for this book and I loved every minute.

I hope she doesn’t wait as long to bring out the next book

Anyone read this series?

OP posts:
BoomyBooms · 22/02/2021 14:34

I read the earlier books in the series and absolutely adored the earlier ones. By the final Freya book I was getting a bit bored, and by the time I found out that the protagonist was changing for this book I think I just couldn't muster the energy. Also have so remembered correctly that Nesta is really young? That might have turned me off too.

Am I really missing out?

I'm halfway through the Discovery of Witches trilogy right now and starting to get a bit bored there too. Maybe it's just me!

r0ck · 22/02/2021 14:40

I love this series and had been waiting ages for this book too- I really enjoyed it, as much maybe if not a little more than the earlier books.
I thought it was a bit weak on the plot but the series is quite character driven anyway isn't it. And the stuff towards the end (which I reckon spoke a lot to mental health etc) made me tear up.
It was a bit rude, mind you, in parts wasn't it Blush Grin
Hope we don't have to wait ages for the next one now..... Reckon it'll be about Azriel?

Soubriquet · 22/02/2021 15:35

Ruder than normal yes

She’s not usually so graphic...but her other book, crescent city, is and I think it’s just moved along to it

It was interesting seeing things from Nesta’s view especially as she was the older sister and cooks remember more from the past

Azriel would be a nice info in the next book

I wonder if Mor and Emerie will start to get together

I didn't think anyone on here read these books, all the book threads seem to be a bit pretentious haha.

I finished it last night and I LOVED IT!!! Nesta is now my fave!!!

DwangelaForever · 22/02/2021 19:15

Ps have you read the bonus Azriel chapter?

DwangelaForever · 22/02/2021 19:18

@r0ck it better be about Azriel! I need a full Azriel book after the Azriel POV chapter!! (Look on tumble for it, it was an American special edition)

I think we will have more respect for Eris as the story goes on!

I need Lucien to find out his parentage.

I too think Mor and Emerie will get together and I'm hoping Azriel and Gwyn get together too!

Haha me too- I feel like I've found 'my people'!

Read the bonus chapter for Azriel but apparently there is one for Feyre too which I haven't come across online yet.

I reckon we're going to see an Azriel/Gwyn pairing and Mor/ Emerie for sure!

DwangelaForever · 22/02/2021 20:20

I came across the Feyre one but the pages were too small and out of order so I'm gonna wait a few more days to see if I can see it!

I cried so much the last few chapters of the book!

Soubriquet · 23/02/2021 00:48

I haven’t seen any bonus chapters?!

Where!!

I love Sarah J Maas

I’ve got all of her throne of glass series and loved them

I started the crescent city series and I loved it and now waiting for the next book

And I love the court of thorns and roses books too

I don’t read “grown up” books. I prefer these types

If you Google ACOSF azriel POV it'll bring you to a link on tumblr!

I only started the ACOTAR series in December but I'm obsessed, think I'm gonna read TOG next!

I used to only really read crime thrillers and "chic lit" but I've been soo into books like this during this whole pandemic lol I think I'm converted!!

Allthegoodnamesweretakenalread · 23/02/2021 07:58

I loved it! Really came round to Nesta as a character. I liked the healing girl power story too. The only thing that annoyed me was Fayre stealing the limelight at the end! Come on, she had 3 books and a novella to be the main character and then has to take over the end of Nesta's story! Looking forward to the next one. Hope it's an Azriel one.

r0ck · 23/02/2021 08:47

I’ve just started re-reading the Throne of Glass books again, they’re ace too.

Soubriquet · 23/02/2021 10:54

Thank you! Going now

Soubriquet · 23/02/2021 11:02

Oh poor Azriel

Him and Elain are so perfect and it’s a shame that Lucien is her mate

I do hope he manages to start bonding with Gwyn

So this bonus chapter that has obviously been written by SJM, where has she published it?

How have fans got hold of it for tumblr?

OP posts:
Allthegoodnamesweretakenalread · 23/02/2021 11:22

There were 2 bonus chapters which were in special editions of the book. You had to buy two different editions from different publishers to get both. Fans then share the extra content for those who can't afford to buy 2 copies of the book. I think they were only available in the USA as well. Not a trend I like.

Soubriquet · 23/02/2021 11:24

That sucks Angry

Why do Americans get all the good perks like that?

Why should we have to pay for a second identical book just to get a bonus chapter?

They should be included in every book

OP posts:
DwangelaForever · 23/02/2021 12:46

I know I hated the reasoning behind these chapters too its wild! I've seen more UK authors doing things like this too with exclusive extra chapters given to certain supermarkets too its really annoying!

I think I'm gonna start the Throne of Glass series, but I've seen people talk about a specific reading order with the novellas etc. Do you know what's best order to read them in?

Soubriquet · 23/02/2021 13:27

Just read from start to finish

You can read the novella at the end. If you tried reading it in between you might get spoilers you don’t need
