I have been reading two series which I have enjoyed. Can you please recommend similar books? Preferably available on kindle as that is where I read the majority of books.

  • A Life on the Gorge River/ A Wife on the Gorge River - non fiction memoirs of a couple who lived off grid in a remote area of New Zealand. The book focused on the practicalities of daily family life with lots of humorous anecdotes.
  • Grape Expectations + follow ons - also non fiction memoirs of a couple who moved to France to take over a vineyard and run a wine business. Again lots of family anecdotes, practicalities and information on niche or interesting ways of life.

I am as open to fiction as non fiction, but would prefer it to be a family or couple driven memoirs style book, preferably focusing on something a bit unusual and/ or escapist.

Thanks!

The Yorkshire Shepherdess sounds like it would fit your criteria.

Have you read The Year of Living Danishly by Helen Russell? It would probably fit the bill. I really enjoyed it.
