Through a Mother's Tears by Cathy Broomfield is very good, although it's not very long. Cathy Broomfield's daughter was murdered by her abusive husband and it's the mother's story. (true story). It was all over the news at the time, something like 'The body in the suitcase'.

Lockdownisshit, also take a look at Fantastic Fiction, again it gives suggestions of what other people looked at after checking Cathy Glass's books.

Torey Hayden books are good - she is a teacher rather than a Foster carer but a similar vibe :)

FurrySlipperBoots · 20/01/2021 16:03

I'm not sure of the morality of the Cathy Glass books - is it really ok to make money by sharing vulnerable people's traumatic childhoods? I know I wouldn't like it at all if I'd been one of her foster children and she'd shared my life story with the masses.

In answer to your question though, how about 'Dibs: In search of self'?

ShitInAPyrexDish · 20/01/2021 16:08

I love Cathy Glass OP. If you like Cathy Glass then I'm sure you will love Casey Watson and Maggie Hartley who are both foster carers. I also love Torey Hayden, she isn't a foster carer, she's a special education teacher, whose books are also great.

Oh thanks il search torey hayden for something a bit different @ShitInAPyrexDish
