What next after Company of Liars?

I've finished Company of Liars which I really enjoyed. Some of Karen Maitland's other novels get more mixed reviews. Which one should I go for next? Also any recommendations for similar by other authors? I've read, and loved, the Shardlake series.

If you're interested in books set around the time of the Black Death then you might like The Last Hours and The Turn of Midnight by Minette Walters.

I can thoroughly recommend The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland.
And The Mistress of the Art of Death series by Ariana Franklin.

I really enjoyed The Vanishing Witch by her, better than Company of Liars IMO.

Does it have to be medieval? I’d highly recommend the Magda series by Sarah E England. Fantastic writer.

Thank you! No it doesn't have to be medieval at all. I like a historical novel but am not fixated on a particular period. Will check these ones out.
