15-ish books in 2021, anyone?

I love reading and am totally in awe of anyone who can read 26 let alone 50 books in one year. I just can’t find enough time!

So I thought I would start a more feasible (for me at least!) target.

If I’ve done my maths correctly it would mean roughly a book every 3 weeks which is about my going rate.

Just in case I don’t quite manage it, I’m starting now with A Man Called Ove.

I'll join you. 15 definitely more realistic than 50 for me.

@BaconAndAvocado here’s the link to 26 books. My target was 12, the thread moves slowly enough to keep up and you can read however many you want, whether that’s 10 or 26. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/what_were_reading/4120543-26-ish-books-in-2021?watched=1

Thanks Mercedes

rc22 thanks for joining!

I'm going to try and read loads more in 2021 so may bridge over into 25 books, we shall see.

We're getting a puppy around Easter time so that may be a very stupid aim.....

Yes I may bridge into 25. I would be very surprised if I make 50 though! I'm a teacher so tend to get through lots of books in the school holidays but my reading slows down in term time.

I've started now with Away with the Penguins. It's very light but I'm enjoying it.

Can I join too please? I have some books bought last year that I haven't read yet. My aim is 26 but that may be optimistic.

I've started with Three Women by Lisa Taddeo bought by my OH for my last birthday (jan!). It's a bit heavy going. It's effectively non fiction turned into fiction about the lives of three women and the theme is sexual abuse. My next book will be non-fiction.

rc I used to teach so I know how little time you have to read in term time. Good luck! I can remember always counting down the weeks until the next holiday, so......only 7 weeks till half term!

1stttime Welcome!
I remember seeing that book, I think it got very good reviews.
I’d like to try a good non-fiction book but always seem to err towards fiction.

Reorganising DD’s bedroom and taking down the decs today so maybe not be a big reading day.
