Naomi's room - ending? Spoilers!

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me understand the ending of naomi's room?

I loved the first half but kind of rushed through the second half as I didn't find it as good.

I'm left with a few questions so not sure if I missed some info along the way.

Spoilers below....

  1. Who was the man who committed the murders? I know he said he was told to but I missed who he was and how the main character knew to point the police towards him.
  1. Why was Naomi murdered in the first place? And why in that way? I would have thought the ghost could have influenced the dad to do it all along while they were in the house... Assume the policeman and photographer were too as they were close to discovering the truth....
  1. What was the point behind the main characters mother's surname being the same as the evil ghost? Did that mean he was a relation?

Apologies if these are silly questions, I may have to go back and reread.. I did try googling but couldn't find many answers.

Thank you :)

I just read this after hearing about it on mumsnet. I must say I was disappointed in the way it got gory for no reason!

  1. I think the man who committed the murders was a descendant of the evil doctor.
  2. No clue. Didn't really make sense. I thought it would turn out to be the dad!
  3. Yes, I think that the main character was also a descendant of the evil doctor.
Try looking on goodreads, there may be more explanations/questions. I returned my digital copy to the library so I can't go back and re-read. I'm glad it's not in the house, actually.

Another one disappointed in how it got gory for no reason.

Also couldn’t work out who killed Naomi and why - felt the book glossed over that a bit.
