This book got great reviews on Amazon and I couldn't wait to begin reading it. . It started of quite well but now three chapters in I can't be bothered with it. Is it just me. It's the first one of hers I've tried. Are the others any better.

I'm about three quarters through this but it's a bit slow and I keep putting it down which is not a good sign. Not sure if I will bother to finish Confused

Yes! Feeling the same! Didn’t know if I was just more tired than usual so read a page or two then went to sleep or if the book was dull

Oh no! Please keep going. It builds slowly but I thought it was a lovely book.

Magicbabywaves · 28/10/2020 14:42

Oh I really liked this! It is a bit slow to get going I suppose.

Same...got about half way then returned it to the library!

I have just finished "The girl you left behind" and the I found it so slow to start with then in the middle it really dragged. I found exactly the same with the Me to you trilogy. I do think sometimes she gets a bit carried away in the narrative and just waffles!!!

I agree she takes about two chapters to say what should be a paragraph. But I don't mind slow moving books as long as they're interesting. I saw another book on Amazon which sounded good. The red notebook. Set in Paris translated from the French
That sounds good too.

I just finished this and LOVED it. It took me a little while to get into, but couldn't put it down from about half way through.

I think if it hasn't caught you by then it may not.

Do persevere! Three chapters in? Mmm well maybe you haven't got to the main, story Grin. I loved this book - really warm, tough characters who form a bond and a really interesting setting and storyline.

I don't want to spoil anything for you but please keep going - you will probably be glad that you did Smile.
