Has anyone finished this? I loved it but have a few questions

So July didn’t go off to university and live her life, she stayed at Settle House alone and grew old there?? Is that right??

That's my understanding of it, she never escaped the grief and let it consume her.

It is deliberately very confusing and ambiguous. The whole book leaves you unsure of what to believe and what's true.
