Which book character would you want for a good friend?

I just finished reading The Future Homemakers of America, and though it's going in the charity shop pile (if that's a thing again yet), I will miss Kath Pharaoh. I finished the book thinking I'd love to have a friend like her.

And more obvious choices would be Charlotte Lucas and Meg March (I usually connect with the quieter and more responsible supporting characters, eldest child syndrome probably...)

Everyone knows I love Marian Halcombe.

Ah dopamine I loved that book. Never quite found another Laurie Graham to match it but never mind, I've enjoyed them all.

I long to meet Clary and Polly from the Cazalet Chronicles, though I think Louise would be a pain (I'm aware they're all aspects of Elizabeth Jane Howard!)
