It may be that everyone who inhabits the Chalet School /EnidBlyton threads already knows all about this book by Ysenda Maxtone Graham, but I didn't and have just got it on Kindle. Would be interested to hear what others think.

Oh this sounds right up my street. Will have a look. I was actually at boarding school in 1980 myself.

I loved this book. I didn’t go to boarding school, so had no idea what it could be like beyond Mallory Towers. Was surprised how bleak it was for many, but loved the friendship stories.

Ooo it's on my TBR pile. Picked it up in a second hand bookshop last year. I might bump.it up a bit on the pile!

EB/EBD fan here and I didn't know about it - now on my wishlist, thanks for the recommendation!

I went to a comprehensive so the arcane mysteries of boarding schools fascinate me.

Read this last year and enjoyed. I don’t know anyone who went to boarding school so my view of them was completely built up from Enid Blyton books and similar, so was eye opening to read about the reality.
