I remember reading it as a teenager in late 80s or early 90s. Romantic novel where the main female character falls in love with the male character... but he is a villain in the start of the book. I am not sure but the title may have had the word stranger in it. I also think I had read the book twice and remember enjoying it. Would like to see if I can get my hands on it again.
