I have a reading book on the go, but need to be entertained whilst doing chores.

Can anyone recommend a lighthearted, funny book to listen to?

Try anything by Bill Bryson

I just listened to "This is going to Hurt" by Adam Kay. Very entertaining (and a bit topical at the moment).

Which online company are you using. I'm using Apple and it has hardly any good books. Some of them are £12.99????

I use Audible. Try looking on your local library website, they usually have audiobooks you can borrow (but you’ll have to wait for the newer/more popular ones).

Audible here too.

If you are a Sandi Toksvig fan, then "Between the Stops" is her memoir, fabulously narrated by her. It is very funny but also poignant and follows the route of her local bus no.12 through South London. Recommended

I use Audible, you can get two books free if you sign up for a month's trial.

I second the Bill Bryson recomendation, or I enjoyed The Tent, the Bucket and Me on Audible recently

The ones read by Bryson himself are much better than those read by that other bloke! Some of that guy's attempts at foreign accents have to be heard to be believed...

I've found Dom Joly's audiobooks amusing.

Anything written and read out loud as an audio book by Graham Norton

Yes try your local library for free audio books and ebooks too. During the lockdown our libraries have made special arrangements so you can join on line or over the phone.
PG Wodehouse is always a winner Grin

Blott on the landscape if you can get it as an audio book.

The very persistent Gappers of Frip by George Saunders is a good short light hearted story that I really enjoyed.

I borrowed it on borrow box from my local library.
