I want to order some books for my mum to read as shes bored during isolation. She tends to read light hearted, easy 'chick-lit' stuff. She's gone through all of Sophie Kinsella. Any recommendations of similar books/authors? Thank you Smile

The celebrity shopper series by Carmen Reid. Her other books probably too. Also I second Jane Fallon as already recommended.

The celebrity shopper series by Carmen Reid

That's the one I was trying to think of earlier @MandyDingle

Anything by Lindsay Kelk and the proper family series by Chrissie Manby.

Lisa Jewell’s early books are chick lit too, whereas her more recent ones are deeper, darker, more psychological thrillers.
Oh and Miranda Dickinson is worth a look too.

Dawn Brooks writes a series of books which feature light hearted murder mysteries on cruises. Not chick lit as such, but easy to read books.

Love Maeve Binchley.

Eleonor oliphant - although popular, didn’t really like the book and it’s quite serious.

Bridget Jones books - worth a read.

Jojo Moyes.
Some of Patricia Scanlan, Cathy Kelly and Sheila O’Flanagan’s are similar to Binchey (not just because they’re all Irish!)

I'd second Milly Johnson, very likeable and she's written about 15 books so far.

Other authors to maybe consider; Rowan Coleman, Emma Burstall and Amanda Prowse.

Emily Giffin and Adele Parks
