Book about memory loss/amnesia/a name being repeated/possibly a thriller

I haven't even read the book, so have very little to go on, but a book came up on my Facebook feed which seemed interesting.

I think it's about memory loss/amnesia. The only thing I can remember from the blurb is a character saying something like "they keep telling me my name is xxx" (I can't remember the name).

Possibly the same day being re-lived (its not Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, nor is it Elizabeth is Missing).

I've got a feeling the book has the same title as another fiction book, as I think I Googled it at the time and thought that the book that came up in my search wasn't the one as in my Facebook feed (which had by then refreshed and I couldn't find it again...)

Can anyone help identify it? Thank you!

Could it be What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty?

Pelleas · 02/04/2020 16:35

Or Before I go to Sleep by SJ Watson.

Still Alice by Lisa Genova?

As an aside, why are so many heroines of thrillers called Alice? Grin It's a lovely name but I get tired of reading it.

Thank you, but I don't think it is any of those. Some great-sounding reads though!

Could it be The Rook by Daniel O'Malley? It's about an amnesiac woman called Myfanwy (but pronounced Miffany) in the book.
I haven't read it but recall recently reading a discussion (possibly on here) about a film or tv series based on this book; sounds similar.

The silent patient?

videoisamurderer · 05/04/2020 12:41

Oh no wait... she doesn't have amnesia. She becomes mute I haven't read it.

The title should have given it away Blush

The protagonist is called Alicia though. Adding to the theme...

ACupOfCoffee · 05/04/2020 16:26

Thank you @rosegoldwatcher and @videoisamurderer, but neither of those.

It's one of those, "did I imagine this book?" scenarios...

Having thought a bit more, I'm wondering if it had a spy/espionage theme??

Mr Nobody?

Coffin Road by Peter May is a thriller set in the Western Isles where the main protagonist (male) has amnesia. I thought it was a bit rubbish to be honest. But it sounds like you're looking for a book with a female protagonist, so probably not that anyway.

I think I might have been thinking of "I know my name" by CJ Cooke. I'm not 100% convinced as I can't seem to find the actual review/blurb I read before, but this one seems to it.
