I've read the first of the Three Body Problem trilogy, and I'm not sure

I don't know whether to continue with it or not. The book flip-flopped between fascinating and turgid for me. I particularly loved a lot of the background detail to the story, but not so much the central plot. I definitely had to push myself to keep going with it, and had periods that I zoned out and had to go back over bits that I'd missed (audio book). I'm not sure I can be bothered with the effort for two more books.

Book 2 is my favourite. So I would say give that a go and see if it grips you any better ...

Tedious. Don't bother!

Oh God, the last book was utterly dire. You will lose nothing if you stop now.

I have a few books waiting to be read or listened to, so I'll leave it I think. I'm not sure why there's so much fuss about it, there are much better sci fi books. The cultural revolution bits are fascinating but there are probably much better books about that too.
