Looking for a page turner with a fantasy element, recommendations?

I've read some rather enjoyable books recently, but am currently stuck for what to read next. I enjoy books along the lines of:

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel
Ninth House
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street series
The Night Circus and The Starless Sea
7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
The Toymakers
Rivers of London Series

I'm almost finished CL Tudor's The Other People, which was a perfect read for my current reading mood (also really enjoyed The Chalk Man, less so The Taking of Annie Thorne).

While I do love beautiful writing and more "literary" books too, I do rather need something fast-paced right now, unless it reads like Strange and Norrell, which is still feels like a treat with every re-read

Any suggestions would be very welcome, particularly if they're available for instant download to my Kindle!

I’d recommend:

The Lady Trent series by Marie Brennan - about a Victorian ‘lady naturalist’ in a world where dragons exist.

Sorcerer to the Crown and its sequel The True Queen by Zen Cho - magic in Regency-era London.

The Tethered Mage & sequels by Melissa Caruso - fantasy set in a Venice-style city. Not a typical sword & sorcery type fantasy story, and very enjoyable.

All easy and gripping to read, and very entertaining!

Try The Night Raven by Sarah Painter - I really liked them, and the supernatural undercurrent to London feel

Might be too many hits with the fantasy stick for you, but I'm not a big fantasy fan really and yet couldn't put down the books of Robin Hobb. Also totally different but Andres Neumann's Traveller of the Century

I do like most of Naomi Novik's books actually - the Temeraire books are the Napoleonic battles but with dragons as the air fleet.

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova is excellent

Truly cheesy and not terribly high-brow writing but easy to read stories is Elizabeth Hunter series - the Irin Chronicles are best to start.

Chronicles of St Mary's as well if you have tried them.

We seem to have similar tastes op. I adored The Lies of Locke Lamora'. Couldnt put it down.

Anything by Lois McMaster Bujold - Chalion series or the Sharing Knife might suit better than Vorkosigan, though they're all excellent.
David Eddings is lightweight and fun. Stephen Donaldson's Mordant's Need duology, maybe? If you like Russian folk tales, Peter Morwood's Prince Ivan trilogy. Or for something a touch different, Diane Duane's Tale of the Five.

Robin hobb start with the assassins apprentice -although that's more prose and slow paced.

Have you read the jodi taylor time traveling books? I think the first one is called just one damn thing after another. Fast paced, funny, original.

The Witcher books (starting with 'The Last Wish'), then you can enjoy the TV series when you've finished!

The Invisible Library series by Genevieve Someone - forgotten the last name. Not quite up there with St Mary's and Rivers of London, but has dragons.

@URPS - other than DH I've never 'met' anyone who's read these. They're really his aren't they?

I'd recommend the Miss Peregrine series. We all love them in our house (there's five now).

@iklboo I read the first book by complete accident.. but they are brilliant and not at all what I expected!

Oh I loved almost everything on your list. You have of course read Good Omens?

If you liked Ninth House, then Leigh Bardugo's YA is very readable. I'll also second the Sarah Painter series recommendation, I read all three in a weekend. I also think Genevieve Cogman is better than Jodi Taylor.

Jen Williams - The Copper Cat trilogy and the Winnowing Flame trilogy, I enjoyed both but the Copper Cat felt a bit more fun.

Been really enjoying Once Upon A River by Diane Setterfield (The Thirteenth Tale). Lots of really well portrayed characters and a great storyline.

Seconding the Curse of Chalion series by Lois McMaster Bujold. I find all her writing very compulsive and a well-realised fantasy world.

Watchers by Dean Koontz

I was recommended it and thought 'err no. Not for me.' Reluctantly downloaded a sample and was hooked

Blackout and All Clear by Connie Willis. An historian time travels back to the Blitz.
