Similar to Jack Reacher?

It's DHs birthday soon and I'd like to get him a couple of books. He loved the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child and has devoured the whole series. Can anyone recommend anything similar please? Maybe another series in the same vein? Thanks

Not the same but the Charlie Parker novels by John Connolly. Every Dead Thing is unputdownable, and The Black Angel even better. He combines gruesome killings (from both sides) with a feel for the supernatural.

The Charlie Fox series by Zoe Sharp is terrific. Charlie Fox is a woman, but she’s a pretty kick ass heroine.

David Baldacci writes some good action thrillers - the quality varies a bit, but his King and Maxwell series is pretty good. I don’t think he’s quite the writer Lee Child is.

Old school, but Robert B Parker’s Spenser books are good, at least to the point the terrible Susan character appears. And Robert Crais’s Elvis Cole books are terrific.

I’d definitely second John Connolly.

Ben Hope books by Scott Mariani

I came to recommend the Cole/Pike books but I see @DancelikeEmmaGoldman has beaten me to it Smile

I'm a huge Reacher fan. The Mitch Rapp books by Vince Flynn are a good substitute. Baldacci's John Puller books are an obvious Reacher rip off but easy reads.

I adore Lee Child - currently reading his new one Blue Moon!

Not exactly the same but I also like

Mark Billingham
Robert Crais
Harlen Coben
Jonathan Kellerman

Orphan X is very similar. But different enough. You should read them in order as the first book gives more background and there are continuing relationships. I would 100% recommend.

Great, that gives me loads to go on! Thanks everyone.

Try the Joe Pickett series by CJ Box.

Joe is a very different character to Reacher, but it's the same easy reading good guy wins style of story.

Brian Freeman and his cop character Jonathan Stride!

@WellTidy. I went for the first book in the Orphan X series. DH loves it. Thanks for the tip!

@Smartypoppet I like the look of those two books. I'd never heard of the author. I think I'd enjoy them too. Thank you.
@WellTidy and @Nanna50 . DH is racing through the Orphan X books faster than I can reserve them from the library. He is on book 4 already..
