I have just finished reading this book from the library. It was borrowed first on May 23rd 1975 and three further times that year, three times in 1976, just twice in 1977 and 1978, once the following year then not until once in 1989, same in 1998 then a long gap until 2003, 2007, 2016 then me. I think this tells a story in itself.

I have watched a couple of programs on Aberfan but this is the first book I have read. It was interesting, heart breaking, shocking and informative but I find myself still wanting to know more. Did any of the families go on to have another child, how are the parents now, how are the surviving children now?

So shocked that the NCB tried to charge rent for the emergency caravans placed on their land. So sad that the many premonitions that people hard weren't known about or more specific.

Such a sad event.

Aberfan - I for one will never forget and think about you often Flowers.

I recently watched a documentary about this on YouTube after the episode of The Crown it featured in. Unimaginably awful.

I Googled and have discovered that one lady who lost her daughter did go on to have two more children but then sadly one man struggled with the guilt of surviving and has never married and suffers with depression.

Thanks for that. I have always wanted to know more about what happened.
