Hiding from the usual christmas family stuff (nothing serious just too long all together!). Any recommendations for funny books about families as a distraction and maybe to make me feel mine aren't too batty. I love Marian Keyes' Walsh family books, Nancy Mitford's books, The Crow Road (and other Iain Banks), My family and other animals. Any other recommendations?

I liked The Floating Feldmans by Elyssa Friedland

Don't be put off by the grotty cover

"There is plenty of material in this novel for dramatic turns and flamboyant scenes. The author writes very well and is a pert observer of human and generational interaction. The narrative is full of wry and witty insights, dotted with some poignancy, and Friedland eloquently describes situations that will be familiar to many of her readers. "
