I have just finished The Family Upstairs which I found gripping with a clever twist at the end. Which other books can you recommend by Jewell and which other authors in the psychological thriller genre?

The House We Grew Up In, I Found You, and The Girls are all good ones by Lisa Jewell. She seems to be moving away from her earlier chick lit stuff towards psychological thrillers with her last few books.
Agree Liane Moriaty and Dorothy Koomson. Louise Candlish is worth a look too. I think she wrote The Swimming Pool.

I’m currently reading Take Me In by Sabine Durrant which is very good.

Thanks for these recommendations. Keep them coming! Also, would be good to know which ones can be read by my husband too as he doesn't want anything too chick-lit

No Time for Goodbye
The couple next door (as mentioned above)

You’d like Shari Lapena. All of hers are good.

Clare Mackintosh
Liane Moriarty
Louise Candlish

I would also recommend all the above. Also try Those People by Louise Candlish and The Neighbour by Fiona Cummins. Also anything by B A Paris particularly the first one - Behind Closed Doors was a good read.

ParkheadParadise · 05/01/2020 19:03

Dorothy Koomson

I loved I found you by Lisa Jewel.
I let you go by Clare Macintosh
The ice twins by S K Tremayne
I'm also a fan of Jodi Picoult - so would recommend her books too.
