Suggest a good fireside/spooky/Christmassy read please.

I've just finished The Small Hand by Susan Hill, I've ready The Silent Companions, Most Sarah Waters and Michelle Paver. I want a bit of a mystery, ghosts (but not horror) and something that I won't be able to put down.

What do you suggest?

The latest Michelle Paves is excellent. I'd not read anything by her before but throughly enjoyed it
