I'm taking the sleeper train to Venice and back by myself next weekend.

Can anyone recommend novels set in Venice or on trains?

As a post-script to this, I'm reading Venice by Jan Morris now. It's so beautifuly descriptive, I wish I had had time to read it before I went.

Donna Leon has written a lengthy crime fiction series in Venice.
