Help me find a book - storks/geese on roof in Holland?

I’m trying to remember a book that I read many years ago - I remember storks or geese on a roof possibly in Holland but anymore than that I’m lost so not even sure what the gist of the story was.
If anyone knows from that I’ll be amazed but hopeful for suggestions. Thank you.

Was it a set in the war?

Amazing, when thinking about the time setting, I suddenly remembered a school came into it and a little googling found it ‘The Wheel on the School’.
Now just need to read a copy and refresh my memory more.

Yes 'the wheel on the school'. It was for storks to nest in. I remember this book fondly.

I remember The Wheel on the School too - it must be about 50 years since I read it!

I remember my primary 6 teacher back in 1978 reading it to us as a class book, the whole class lived it.
