I can’t wait! I’m currently rereading La Belle Sauvage in preparation.

Any predictions? Apparently it features Lyra as a 20 year old and Malcolm as a 31 year old. Do you think there could be a romance plot? I wonder if Will will ever make a reappearance?

Next week!? How did that happen? I'm looking forward to it and also the bbc 1 show.

Pre-ordered from the library as I'm not allowed to buy anymore books! I'm number two on the waiting list.

I had no idea that there was going to be a 5th book. I was wondering what book to read next so this has made my mind up - The Book of Dust.

There’s going to be a 6th as well, Tattie. It’s a second trilogy.

Loved the first part of Belle Sauvage, wasn’t so keen on part 2. Hoping Secret Commonwealth is more like part 1.

So excited about this. Read DD1 Northern Lights earlier this year and OMG how wonderful to read out loud in comparison to bloody Harry Potter. Apparently they are only doing 2 series of This Dark Materials so wish I knew how much of The Subtle Knife I need to read to her before we watch it.

They’ve confirmed two series. I don’t know if that means the third just isn’t confirmed yet It would seem strange to just plan to do 2.

My copy arrived today - so well timed as I’m at home with an unwell DS2. Already two chapters in and gripped.

I had no idea there was even a fourth book. I loved the HDM trilogy (or what I thought was a trilogy).

I got as far as downloading it onto kindle just after midnight, then fell asleep.

Well....i’ve finished it!!! It was great to be back in the world of HDM, lots of links and hooks to the other books too. Not going to share any spoilers on this thread.

ginfordinner it is the 5th book, 2nd book in book of dust trilogy. You need to read La Belle Savage then this one ;)

I have the 2 little books too - lyras oxford & once upon a time in the north.

I'm going to start tonight,I may be reading I to the wee hours.
